More Glory For Draycott A:
Draycott A completed a league and cup double for the second successive year with a 3-1
victory over Endon A, to capture this years Sporting Trophies final. Thanks to Mick Taylor

Boro A Complete League & Cup Double:
Fresh from capturing the Division 2 Championship, Boro A made it a double celebration
with a 2½-1½ win over Bucknall B to lift this years Dale Cup.

Sporting Trophies Cup Final: Draycott A v Endon A:
This years Sporting Trophies final will feature Draycott A and Endon A, and will
be played at Abbey View on Saturday 5th October, kick-off time 3.30. Thanks to Mick

Dale Cup Final Update:
The Dale Cup Final won't now be played on Saturday 21st September. Rumours are rife
that the Boro boys are 'bricking it' having heard about the exploits of Bucknall
during this years cup campaign. News of a new date and venue will appear here in
due course.

Dale Cup Final: Borough A v Bucknall B:
This years Dale Cup final will be between The Borough A and Bucknall B, and will
be played on Saturday 21st September 1.30pm kick-off, at Abbey View Tennis Club.
Whilst I'm not sure of the Boro Boy's progress to the final, the Bucknall lads have
fought their way through three highly competitive, nerve wracking, at times
scintillating, and harduous ties to cement their place in the final.

Endon A Win Foundation Cup Final:
Endon A won the Ladies Foundation Cup defeating Basford in a closely fought contest.
With the match all square at 2-2, count back revealed that Endon A had won 1 more game than
Basford to capture the trophy. The victorious Endon team consisted of Vanessa Greatbatch, Jill
Woolley, Leesa Faulkner and Linda Faulkner. Thanks to Mick Taylor and Kevin Harper

Endon A have reached the final of the Sporting Trophies, where they will play either

Stone A Men Clinch Promotion to Div 1:
Stone A secured promotion to Div 1 with a 4-0 over Knypersley C, and in the process condemned
them to Div 3. Knypersley B fall from Div 1, whilst in Div 4 Abbey View E sneaked past Endon D
to claim the second promotion spot. Early news of results and tables visit

Draycott and Abbey View Take Titles:
Draycott A have wrapped up the Mens 1 league for the 3rd consecutive year whilst their mixed
team have captured the Mixed championship. Abbey View A sealed the Ladies Division 1 crown
and in Men 3, Alsager FR A have captured the title with Stone B promoted as runners up. Relegation
issues still need to be decided in the mens league, with Knypersley B, Knypersley C and
Draycott C all struggling in divisions 1,2 and 3 respectively. For the latest tables and results

Florence D Champions in Men 4:
Florence D secured the title in Men 4 with a 3-1 win over nearest rivals

Men 2 Down To The Wire:
Just 1½ points separate Stone A, Westlands and Florence B going into the final
match of the season, as one of them attempts to join Boro A in promotion to the elite.
Elsewhere Bucknall B are relegated to Division 3 and for early results check

Abbey View B Clinch Ladies Div 2:
Abbey View B have wrapped up the ladies Division 2 Championship and Abbey View A are almost certain
to make it a league double in Division 1 whilst Draycott have been relegated. Alsager FR A have been promoted to

Apologies for the delay, I've been on my jollies. Florence D look certain to pick up the
Men's 4 championship, and their B team are in a battle with Westlands and Stone A to pick up the
second promotion spot in Division 2. Alsager FR A and Stone B are odds on favourites to

Borough A Up As Champions:
Congratulations to the Borough A, as their win against Westlands not only earned them
promotion to Division 1 but the championship too. Hope the Boro Boys managed to celebrate their
success with a few 'soft drinks'. At the other end of Division 2 Bucknall A eased their relegation
worries with a thumping 3-1 win against Florence B. For details of early results from this week visit

| Promotion Places Could Be Decided This Week:
The Borough A and Alsager FR A can clinch promotion to Division 1 and 2 respectively, if
they win their matches this week. Draycott A and Florence A meet in Mens 1, with Florence
A needing a big win if they are to have any realistic hope of overhauling Draycott at the top.
Florence D look set for promotion from Men 4 whilst Abbey View remain on course for a
ladies double. Alsager A and Draycott head the mixed league. For the latest results and tables

Draycott A Pile On The Pressure:
Draycott A started the second half of the season in style with a 4-0 victory in Mens 1 to
consolidate their position at the top of the table. Florence D did likewise in Division 4, and for more

Bucknall B Move To St Peters:
For the remainder of this season 3rd Division Bucknall B will play their home matches at St Peters High
School, Queens Road, Penkhull. However, Bucknall A will continue to play at Bucknall Park.

Ladies Double For Abbey View?:
Thanks to Colin Kinshott, results and tables are now all up to date. Abbey View have established
useful leads in both ladies divisions, whilst Draycott A and Florence A have opened up a good gap
at the top of Mens Division 1. Boro A have a stranglehold on Mens Division 2, with Alsager FR A
edging clear in Mens Division 3. Even though it's early days in the mixed league, it looks like
it will be a two way battle for the title, with Draycott and Alsager A well clear.

Men 3 Looking Tight:
There's four teams looking for two promotion slots in Mens Division 3, whilst in Division 4
Florence D, Abbey View E and Endon D are pulling clear. The latest scores are in the usual place, although
there are quite a few missing from the last two weeks, so if you know any of the results

Alsager A - Like The Hokey Cokey?:
First they were out, then they changed there minds and were in, but it now seems
that Alsager A are out of this seasons mens Division 1. After much faffing around
Alsager A are not now entering a side in Division 1 and as a result the Division is back
down to 9 teams. Anyway for ex-members of Alsager A, (and anyone else who shares my warped
sense of humour) here's a

Mick Taylor (Endon) has kindly supplied me with the seasons opening result. Details of

Mens Div 1 Increased to 10 Teams:
Alsager A, who at the end of the 2001 season announced that they were to join forces
with players from Florence A, and compete as Florence A, have had a change of heart.
Consequently Alsager A will now compete in Division 1 for the forthcoming season with
10 teams now competing in the top flight. Fixtures for this division have now been
updated to include Alsager A's fixtures.
